Scaleable search functionality
is a reliable and scaleable enterprise level search engine, specifically designed to provide extensive search functionality at sensible prices. Based on the Lucene search engine, an open source Java-based application, it understands best practice metadata standards and is capable of indexing sites which do not adhere to these standards by applying metadata standards to them.

Streamlined digital media management
is a digital media library designed to manage every stage of the process required to publish digital media on the web, from capture and introduction of an asset, right through to publication.
A workflow feature encourages users to assign appropriate metadata to the media files and can ensure correct administration and management both before and after publication. The solution can process a wide range of image formats in a variety of resolutions. An innovative Pan and Zoom function allows users to zoom in to a specific area of an image to examine it in more detail.

GIS and mapping
System Associates has developed a number of solutions that use Geographical Information System (GIS) technology. These are found in many of our portal solutions including Your London and Local Directgov. Users enter a postcode or street name to search for and retrieve the information which is most relevant to them and their location, and search results are then summarised on a map.
Link retrieval and monitoring
Our bespoke spidering software enables both website retrieval based on strict content criteria and portal link monitoring.
Single sign-on and tailored registration
Our single sign-on module is used in several web projects, including providing access to a number of learning applications via the National College of School Leadership's (NCSL's) collaboration and learning portal. The system allows users to browse between a number of applications, including Talk2Learn and the Learning Gateway, without having to register again and login to individual applications.
Often used in conjunction with our single sign-on module, our tailored registration system enables users to personalise their accounts and specify items of particular interest and relevance to them.
Document management
Our document management solution can capture high volumes of text or images and link directly into g-Media, our digital media library, to provide fast and efficient content delivery.
