System Associates wins Best Use of Technology Award

February 7, 2008

System Associates has won the Best Use of Technology Award in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s Community and Business Excellence Awards for 2007.

The Award was given for the deployment of System Associates’ internet technology in a number of innovative collaborative public sector projects including Local Directgov, Your London, Choice and London eAdmissions.

System Associates offers a full remit of web services aimed at organisations with a high volume of information, such as central government, local authorities, .orgs, associations, libraries, pharmaceutical companies and other companies with high levels of regulation. Services include bespoke content management, digital asset management, government-cleared security and data forensics, hosting, secure single sign-on and portal technology.

Chris Dexter, Chief Operating Officer for First Group in Berkshire, judge and sponsor of the Award commented: “In a world where more and more information is becoming available online, System Associates’ technology is creating order out of dispersed services. It is delivering information in a format which is meaningful for the public, while also providing more efficient methods of working and collaboration between the organisations which serve us.”

Last year saw the development of several new pan-London collaborative projects developed by System Associates, including London eAdmissions, a pan-London school admissions programme which enables parents and carers to apply for schools across more than one borough. Also developed last year was Choice, an online pan-London directory of courses and work-based learning programmes which involved the collaboration of more than 600 schools, colleges and work-based learning providers across London.

David Macken, managing director of System Associates comments: “Our technology has been developed to make it easier for people to find online local services and information, while also shortening the time it takes to make information available. By linking organisations and helping them work collaboratively via secure internet technology, we aim to make them more efficient and productive.”

Many of System Associates’ projects have won awards for innovation and this is the second time that System Associates has won an award in the Windsor and Maidenhead Community and Business Excellence Awards. In 2005, System Associates won Small Business of the Year and last year it was runner-up in the Environmental Sustainability category.
