System Associates listed on ASCC contract framework
February 18, 2008
System Associates, a leading provider of internet technology and system integration has secured a framework contract for website services for the National Health Service (NHS). The contract, awarded by NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH), an agency of the Department for Health, is part of a wider framework to provide additional capacity and capability in the supply of IT products and services to the NHS.
Under the National Programme for IT (NPfIT), it became necessary for NHS Connecting for Health to look at agreeing contracts with additional IT suppliers, in order to meet future requirements and the evolving demands of the NHS. However, these additional contracts do not affect those currently operating under the National Programme.
The aim of the Additional Supply Capability and Capacity (ASCC) Framework is to provide a contingency supply line in the event of difficulties with existing contracted services and to reduce the time taken and the cost to run future procurements. The list of contracted suppliers will primarily be available for NHS organisations and also for organisations which receive funding from the Secretary of State for Health (England) to provide Health and Social Care Services.
System Associates is one of eight specialist SMEs to be included on the list for Website Services. Since 2000, the company has been providing award winning content management systems, portal solutions, shared services, secure registration systems, hosting, workflow systems and integrated web technology at both local and national level. System Associates' main speciality is large internet-based applications, especially where a full service in design, development, integration, hosting and support is requested.
Current clients include HM Treasury, NICE, the National Institute for Medical Research, London Connects, the National College for School Leadership and the British Library.
