Welcome to Assist Direct

We live in a world of constant change and progress, where developments in technology provide ever greater opportunities to support the individual, whatever their many and varied needs may be. So it is that ASSIST has been created, a tailored online facility which has the user of Social Care services and products at the heart of all it seeks to achieve.

Assist aims to support Local Authorities making the transition from traditional routes for Social Care delivery to today's model of self-selection. Suppliers of Social Care services and products are brought directly to the people who wish to order them via an e-commerce type platform that allows the individual (or their representative) to "shop" online for whatever it is that best meets their specific requirements. Social Care product or service providers too have  every opportunity to promote their offering, while site users are  directed through their own choices towards relevant suppliers before making a well-informed purchase decision.

As the challenges of implementing the Personalisation Agenda emerge, Assist affords  a structured, yet flexible opportunity to ensure personal budgets are being managed effectively,  that providers comply  with appropriate standards, and  that the Social  Care  needs of the individual are being fulfilled without resources being overstretched.
